      RELATIONSHIPS

Now a day the statistics say that about every third marriage will end in divorce.  So perhaps it’s worthwhile to have a look at this subject.  A relationship is like a very delicate plant or flower.  You can put it in the garden and enjoy seeing it grow.  But….  Did you give it the right soil to grow in?  Have you pulled out the weeds around it?  Do you remember to water it regularly?  Do you tend to its needs and protect its growth?  Do you shelter it from storms, winds and bad weather?  Do you give it any priority at all, or do you just leave it and hope for the best; if it grows it grows, if it withers, it withers?  

How much time did you spend on relationship this week?  No, I don’t mean the practical day to day chores and duties alone.  Did you make any little surprises?  Did you give compliments and support?  Did you spend time contemplating and planning some special quality time together?  Did you examine how your actions and words affect the other?  Were you helpful, or did you neglect being there? Did you apologize for your mistakes and bad behavior? When things are difficult and challenging, does relationship take the back seat, or do you go out of your way to give it priority?  Does your significant other feel wanted and needed?  Do you give them a soft place to fall?
